Dataset description

### Description of data: Arcom publishes data from its report on French people and information. Conducted among a representative sample of more than 3 300 French people aged 15 and over, this barometric publication aims to draw up a complete inventory of relations between French people and information. Among the questions, how do French people inform themselves and feel they are well informed? How do they choose their sources? What knowledge do they have of social networks and how they work? What is the image of the media and journalists?\ As the core of Arcom’s missions focused on “political and general information”, part of the questionnaire was only administered to individuals who had declared an interest in this topic.\ In an open approach, Arcom makes the database available. ### Method of data collection: Entrusted to the IPSOS-BVA Institute. Collection of answers combining internet and telephone, in order to represent all French people, including those who do not use the internet. *First edition (2024).* Sample of 3,356 respondents representative of French people aged 15 and over. Field survey conducted from 22 November to 20 December 2023. A report analysing the results of the first edition is available on the Arcom website: <https://www.arcom.fr/our resources/etudes-et-donnees/mediatheque/les-francais-et-linformation> *Second edition (2026).*Sample of 3,377 respondents representative of French people aged 15 and over. Field of investigation carried out from 16 June to 23 July 2025. A report analysing the results of the second edition is available on the Arcom website: <https://www.arcom.fr/se-documenter/etudes-et-donnees/etudes-bilans-et-rapports-de-larcom/les-francais-et-linformation-2eme-edition> ### Recovery method: The sample was restated on the following variables: • Sex • age • CSP, • Agglomeration category, • Media equipment (TV set, Smartphone, Computer and tablet) • Target (Internaute Métropole, Illectroniques, Outre-mer). The variable POIDS03 is used to weight the results if adjusted results are desired. ### Anonymisation: In addition to the rules in force and with a view to strengthening the anonymisation of personal data, the level of granularity of certain variables has been lowered and groupings have been carried out (e.g. geographical location, latest internet use, etc.). ### Access and Use: The data can be accessed via the Arcom website and on the data.gouv.fr portal They are under an open licence and may be used independently, subject to compliance with Arcom’s credit. Please also keep the Arcom informed of the use of this data in the context of publications (books, articles, etc.) Arcom shall make available: the data file, the code book, a data usage guide. ### Contact: If you have any questions about the survey or the data, please contact Arcom: <recherche@arcom.fr>

Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
