Cadastre

The cadastral plan is the division of the French territory into units of area allowing the calculation of certain taxes. Each municipality is subdivided into sections, themselves subdivided into sheets (or boards). A cadastral sheet has plots, which can support buildings. #### Difference from PCI Vector Unlike the [Informatized Cadastral Plan](https://www.data.gouv.fr/en/datasets/58e5924b88ee3802ca255566/) in EDIGÉO format which is a set of 600,000 cadastral sheets with many elements related to taxation or the cladding of the plan, this version reworked by Etalab focuses on parcel cutting and buildings. The different layers of geographical information are constituted by juxtaposition of the leaves, without correction. These data also included the [cadastral reference managed by the Eurometropolis of Strasbourg] (https://www.data.gouv.fr/en/datasets/5e6ad06d06e3e742367168cc). The latter has been fully integrated into PCI vector and is no longer integrated since 1 September 2025. Despite the fact that PCI content is now the single source, it retains the advantage of being available directly in common geographic data formats, making it easier to use. #### Coverage All the communes of France are covered by the PCI Vector (since 1 September 2025). Historically, the plans of other municipalities not present were available in the form of images, via the PCI Image.
