Sites Sensitive natural areas (ENS) of Loire-Atlantique

Location of areas classified as Sensitive Natural Areas (ENS). * * * The Sensitive Natural Areas (ENS) policy is a competence entrusted to the Departments by the Urban Planning Code: The department is competent to develop and implement a policy of protection, management and opening to the public of sensitive natural areas, wooded or not, intended to preserve the quality of sites, landscapes, natural environments and natural fields of flood expansion and to ensure the safeguarding of natural habitats (…) (Article L. 113-8). » An ENS site is a grouping of parcels of ENS* departmental properties, corresponding either to a geographical whole or to a grouping of parcels or small groups of parcels geographically close, to which a name is given. The Department of Loire-Atlantique manages a hundred ENS sites of which it is the owner. _*An ENS departmental property means, in Loire-Atlantique, a property acquired under the jurisdiction defined in Article L. 113-8 of the Urban Planning Code.
