#### Mapping of CO2 geological storage capacities in metropolitan France. The EVASTOCO2 study is a first step in capitalising and analysing the public knowledge that has made it possible to provide an estimate of CO2 storage capacity in metropolitan France. This inventory, co-financed by ADEME at the request of DGEC (Directorate-General for Energy and Climate), was carried out by several entities specialised in knowledge and use of the subsoil: AKKODIS, AVENIA, BRGM, CVA, GEOSTOCK, IFPEN, TERÉGA, TOTALENERGIES and University of Lorraine. The study identifies different types of storage units. A ‘storage unit’ thus refers indiscriminately to depleted hydrocarbon fields or geological reservoirs in deep saline aquifers associated with structural or out-of-structure traps. The results presented should be interpreted as general indicators, which may evolve towards more precise values.
