The sites included in the inventory of sites are of general interest from an artistic, historical, scientific, legendary or scenic point of view. A registered site can be natural or built. The inscription of a site in the inventory is carried out at the initiative of the State or the departmental commission of sites, perspectives and landscapes. It is issued by ministerial order. Listed sites are natural monuments and sites whose conservation or preservation is of general interest from an artistic, historical, scientific, legendary or picturesque point of view. Site protection concerns only the landscape of the territory concerned and has no effect on the management of fauna and flora. A classified site may not be altered in its condition or appearance without special, prefectural or ministerial authorization. Article L 341-2 et seq. of the Environmental Code (ex-Law of 2 May 1930). The generator of a servitude of public utility is a geographical entity whose nature or function induces, under the effect of a regulation, constraints on the modalities of land use of the surrounding lands. The disappearance or destruction on the ground of the generator does not have the consequence of removing the easement or easements associated with it. Only a new act of annulment or repeal by the competent authority may legally remove the effects of the easement or easements in question.
