Dataset description

In order to contribute to the development of heating and cooling networks, which are one of the levers for the decarbonisation of buildings and the acceleration of the energy transition, [France Chaleur Urbaine](https://france-chaleur-urbane.beta.gouv.fr/) makes available for free download the routes of the networks identified as part of the service, i.e. 1022 routes to date, as well as the associated data. The downloadable file includes the following: * Traces of the networks: the routes of the networks have been collected by France Chaleur Urbaine from local authorities and operators and are continuously updated. * Unrouted networks: this layer lists the district heating and cooling networks whose route is not yet available on France Chaleur Urbaine (based on the annual survey of district heating and cooling networks for 2024). They are represented by a point located at the level of the centroid of the commune concerned. * Network ID: national network identifier. * Heat networks under construction: information transmitted by local authorities and operators or by the ADEME (trace or area for networks whose route is still subject to change). * Classified networks: the information is based on the [Order of 3 December 2024](https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/jorf/id/JORFTEXT000050756289) on the classification of district heating and cooling systems, which lists the systems concerned by the automatic classification. When the local authority deliberated to oppose the classification and informed France Chaleur Urbaine, this information was taken into account. * Priority Development Perimeter (PDP): priority development areas of classified networks are collected by France Chaleur Urbaine from local authorities. * Renewable energy and recovery rates, CO2 content, CO2 content LCA (variable ENR\&R, CO2 and CO2 LCA rates): these data come from the [order of 11 April 2025](https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/jorf/id/JORFTEXT000051520810#:~:text=%E2%80%B9%20Text%20pr%C3%A9c%C3%A9dent-,Arr%C3%AAt%C3%A9%20of%2011%20April%202025%20modifying%20l'arr%C3%AAt%C3%A9%20of%2015,la%20vente%20en%20France%20m%C3%A9tropolitan), known as the ‘DPE order’. They are based on the annual survey of district heating and cooling carried out by the SNCU, and relate to the year 2023 or, for certain networks, to an average of 2021-2022-2023. The EnR \&R rate is in %. The CO2 content is in kgCO2/kWh. LCA content (in life cycle analysis) includes direct and indirect emissions. * Other technical and economic data: All the data are extracted from surveys carried out by Fedene Réseaux de Heat et de Cold with the help of the association AMORCE, under the supervision of the statistical data and studies department (SDES) of the Ministry of Ecological Transition. They relate to 2024, except for length and heat transfer fluid (2021 data, in the absence of more recent data). For more information on a network, we invite you to consult its ‘network fiche’ accessible from our [mapping] (https://france-heat-urbane.beta.gouv.fr/map), by clicking on the network and then on ‘See more information’. _The sources of the information disseminated by France Chaleur Urbaine are deemed reliable, but France Chaleur Urbaine does not guarantee that the data are free from defects, errors or omissions. Questions before production use

Practical answers on evaluation, licensing, freshness, versioning and support.

api.store is built and operated by Apitalks s.r.o. Company details and a direct contact path are linked in the footer for vendor checks and procurement review.
Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
