Descriptive definition of BD Carthage content: An elementary hydrographic section corresponds to the bed axis of #x27;a river, a stream or a canal;
The polylines are plotted a priori in the direction of l' flow of the section.
The minimum length of #x27; a stretch is 200 meters on the ground.
The sections shall be divided according to:
— A change of {\#x27;attribute in the fields of the table,
— A change in the type of environment: the section crosses a surface area, for example,
— A modification of the morphological facies of the water course (single arm, anastomosis),
— The presence of a jump (expressed by a slope break),
These changes are identified by photo-interpretation of available orthoimages.
__Origin__
The BD CARTHAGE repository covers the entire hydrographic territory of Guyana, which includes in addition to Guyana, the Surinamese and Brazilian parts of the watersheds of the Maroni and Oyapock rivers. In metropolitan France, the BD Carthage® product is a production of l’'IGN made from the Carto® BD. In Guyana, l' absence of a Carto® BD covering the whole Guyanese territory requires the use of existing reference, available and in line with the work requested. Therefore, for the Guyanese part, the method chosen is to extract the hydrographic network from the DTED 2 MNE made available after rectification. Then, corrections to the extracted network are requested by photo-interpretation using existing repositories and available from DEAL Guyane.
