National Directory of Elected Officials

The purpose of the National Register of Elected Representatives (RNE) is to monitor the holders of an electoral mandate. It shall be informed and kept up to date by the prefectures and high police stations and by the departments of the Ministry of the Interior, in particular on the basis of information provided by elected representatives during the registration phase of candidatures. The NER data are structured by mandate. This dataset consists of twelve files: 1- district councillors; 2- municipal councillors; 3- Community counsellors; 4- departmental advisers; 5- regional councillors; 6- members of assemblies of local authorities with special status; 7- representatives in the European Parliament; 8- Senators; 9- Members; 10- mayors; 11- advisors to French nationals abroad; 12- members of the Assembly of French Abroad. An elected official who has several mandates will be included in several files. An elected official who has several functions will appear several times in the same file (example: an elected deputy mayor and deputy mayor will appear twice in the register of municipal councillors). The files posted online are updated quarterly. Data relating to the profession are declarative. The occupational codes referential corresponds to the INSEE referential. Requests for rectification must be sent directly by email to the territorially competent prefecture (pref-rne-contact@nom-du-departement.gouv.fr). No request for rectification sent on the platform www.data.gouv.fr will be taken into account. Corrections made in the RNE will not be immediately reported on the platform www.data.gouv.fr, but will be taken into account for the next publication. Updated on 05/04/2024.
