Activity of archive services in France

These statistical data are collected by the interministerial service of the Archives de France (SIAF) of the Ministry of Culture from the public archives services through an annual survey. This dataset concerns the **activity from 2019 to 2023** of the following services: 3 services with national competence (National Archives, Overseas National Archives and National Archives of the World of Work), 100 departmental archives services, 13 regional archives services and nearly 500 communal and inter-municipal archives services. It shall be updated annually. Data from previous years (2010-2018) can be downloaded from the Export tab. The indicators cover the following areas: staffing of services, new archive entries, disposals, preservation, filing, electronic archiving, relations with producers, digitisation, on-site communications, online dissemination, cultural and educational offer, attendance. Some services may not be affected by an indicator ("not applicable") or may not have communicated the result ("nc"). In addition to the restitution of the survey in the form of datasets, the SIAF publishes an annual report, Des Archives en France, which presents in a contextualised and illustrated manner the key data and major events of the activity of the archives services.
