Dataset description

This geocoded database of cultural sites, places and facilities is designed and administered by the Department of Studies, Foresight, Statistics and Documentation of the Ministry of Culture. In particular, it supplies the [permanent equipment database] (https://www.insee.fr/metadonnees/source/serie/s1161) of INSEE and the [Atlas Culture des Territoires] (https://atlasculture.fr/). It is carried out by aggregating different sources: foundations of the Directorate-General for Heritage and Architecture, the Directorate-General for Artistic Creation, the Directorate-General for Media and Cultural Industries, the General Delegation for Transmission, Territories and Cultural Democracy, the National Film and Animated Image Centre, the National Book Centre, the National Centre for Circus, Street and Theatre Arts (Artcena), the Heritage and Photography Media Library. It concerns the field of the whole of France. A detailed list of the types of structure identified in the "Label and appellation" column can be downloaded below (see Attachments). Despite the work of checking, cleaning and certifying the bases, there may remain, given the number of entries, some errors (duplicates or addressing errors) and oversights. Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
