Dataset description

In the context of the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC-3) held from 9 to 13 June 2025 in Nice, find the data associated with the ‘deployment schedule for strong protection at sea (ZPF)’ maps presented in the press kit dedicated to the launch of the strategy dedicated to the protection of the seabed in France. #### Presentation of the dataset This dataset lists the mapping files used for the annex "Deployment Schedule for Strong Protection (ZPF) at Sea" of the press kit "Protecting Marine Biodiversity" published for the United Nations Ocean Conference in June 2025 (See press kit in reuses). \ \ It represents the French hexagonal maritime boundaries and the areas concerned by the deployment schedule of the strong protection at sea (ZPF). The presented dataset consists of a ZPF.zip archive containing the geographical files of the mentioned areas, in shapefile or geopackage format and distributed in several subfolders, with the associated QGIS project. #### Data Construction Methodology The map plots in this dataset are an interpretation of the regulations by the Ministry of Ecological Transition, Biodiversity, Forest, Sea and Fisheries, which does not replace the official regulations. If in doubt, refer to the regulations in force. **Only published regulatory texts are authentic.** This dataset represents the status of areas under strong protection, existing or under recognition and proposed for recognition under strong protection before the end of 2026 in accordance with the announcements made at UNOC on 9 June 2025, as well as study areas for the development of strong protection in accordance with the decision of 17 October 2024. The sources used for this dataset are: * Areas recognised as having strong protection: INPN - ZPF * Areas in the process of being recognised: INPN (selection by MTEBFMP) * Marine protected areas: INPN - AMP * INPN biotope protection orders: INPN - PDB * Zonages Decision The sea in debate: [GéoLittoral](https://www.geolittoral.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/tool-cartographic-de-planning-a1562.html) * Maritime limits: [SHOM](https://limitesmaritimes.gouv.fr/thematiques/espaces-maritimes-francais) #### Conditions of use of data In accordance with Article L. 322-1 of the Code of relations between the public and the administration, the re-use of public information is subject to the condition that it is not altered, that its meaning is not distorted and that its sources and the date of their last update are mentioned. Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
