The Indoor Air Quality Observatory (IAQO) presents the results of the second national campaign on air quality in housing in France. It covers the period from November 2020 to February 2023. The campaign combines measures of air quality at participants’ homes over a 7-day week with a survey of the characteristics of the dwellings, households and equipment present, complemented by the frequency of domestic activities and the perception of occupants about their comfort. The compendium of a self-questionnaire on the respiratory and allergic health of occupants for use by Santé publique France closes the investigation. The measured parameters were chosen on the basis of an updated health hierarchy based on their dangerousness and occurrence, but also on their impact on comfort. More than 170 pollutants and parameters are thus measured in the air of dwellings for this national campaign: volatile organic compounds (including aldehydes and certain substances considered emerging), semi-volatile organic compounds (including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, phthalates, brominated flame retardants, polychlorinated biphenyls, alkylphenols, musks), pesticides, fine particles, nitrogen dioxide, carbon dioxide, radon, temperature, relative humidity, airflow or mouth pressure. At the end of the survey field, 571 dwellings were surveyed. A total of 1516 individuals answered the survey questions. The dwellings surveyed are distributed in 321 municipalities and 84 departments. The development of a weighting set makes it possible to express the results observed at the fleet level of 29.7 million main residences in mainland France.
