Dataset description

Die mittlere Meeresspiegelhöhe beschreibt den langzeitigen Mittelwert des Wasserstandes über dem Geoid/Quasigeoid als geodätische Höhenbezugsfläche. Sie basiert auf Messungen der Satellitenaltimetrie seit 1992 und bezieht sich auf die Referenzepoche 2008.45 (Juni 2008 - entsprechend der mittleren Messepoche des DHHN2016). Das Produkt beinhaltet zwei Varianten für unterschiedliche Anwendungsbereiche: a) Für Anwendungen im amtlichen deutschen Höhensystem (Höhenbezugsfläche GCG2016) b) Für grenzübergreifende wissenschaftliche Anwendungen (gravimetrische Höhenbezugsfläche - Geoid) Die Unterschiede liegen im Bereich weniger Zentimeter.
