Dataset description

Die Collective Spectral Library (CSL) ist eine Datenbank, die eine Sammlung von Referenzspektren umfasst, die mithilfe der Tandem-Massenspektrometrie (MS²) erzeugt wurden. Die Referenzspektren wurden aus verschiedenen Datenquellen (z. B. Umweltbehörden) zusammengetragen. Die CSL wird gemeinschaftlich aufgebaut und enthält Referenzspektren von der Bundesanstalt für Gewässerkunde (BfG), dem Bayerischen Landesamt für Umwelt (LfU Bayern), und dem Umweltbundesamt (UBA). Die Entwicklung und Pflege erfolgt durch die BfG. Die CSL ermöglicht das retrospektive Screening von Umweltproben im Rahmen von Non-Target-Screening. Sie ist in den offenen Analyseworkflow ntsworkflow (Jewell, K. S., et al. 2020) integriert, der den Abgleich experimenteller MS²-Daten mit verifizierten Referenzspektren unterstützt, und an die Plattform NTSPortal (Jewell, K. S., et al. 2025) angebunden, auf der unter anderem die Ergebnisse des retrospektiven Non-Target-Screenings archiviert und bereitgestellt werden. Die CSL wird in weiteren standardisierten Formaten angeboten (z. B. NIST/MSP, MassBank), damit es bei Bedarf in anderen Non-Target-Screening-Workflows angewendet werden kann. Die CSL wird kontinuierlich erweitert, um ihren Nutzen zu steigern. Eine Beteiligung durch die Bereitstellung von Referenzspektren ist ausdrücklich erwünscht.
