Dataset description

Der Datenbestand enthält Informationen zu Fläche und Anzahl von Naturwaldreservaten in den jeweiligen Bundesländern in Deutschland: Gesamtfläche in ha, anteilige Fläche an der Fläche des Bundeslandes in m² je km², Gesamtanzahl und Anzahl unterschiedlich großer Ausdehnung. Sie stehen für die Jahre 2013, 2016, 2019, 2022 und 2025 zur Verfügung. Die Datengrundlage wird kontinuierlich durch die forstlichen Forschungsanstalten der Bundesländer erhoben und vom Informationszentrum für Biologische Vielfalt (IBV) der Bundesanstalt für Landwirtschaft und Ernährung (BLE) bereitgestellt. Naturwaldreservate dienen dem Schutz und der Erforschung sich selbst überlassener Wälder, der Lehre und der Umweltforschung. Hierzu sind forstliche Eingriffe ausgeschlossen. Die zugrunde liegende Datenbank enthält darüber hinaus Steckbriefe, welche die einzelnen Naturwaldreservate in Deutschland detaillreich mit Informationen wie z.B. Jahr der Ausweisung, Flächengröße, Baumartengemeinschaft, potentielle natürliche Vegetation etc. beschreiben.
