Dataset description

Map of the Rhineland by Tranchot and von Müffling 1801 - 1828 (HKTM) The map of the western Rhineland, then part of France, was arranged by Napoleon on a scale of 1: 20 000 based on technical-scientific principles based on astronomically-trigonometrically determined points, which were located on widely visible terrain surveys. Work on the ‘Carte topografique des Départements réunis de la Rive gauche du Rhin’ began in 1801. Under the direction of the French colonel Tranchot, the map was taken to the left of the Rhine until 1814. The French map recording could not be completely completed due to the liberation wars. After the conclusion of the second Paris Peace Treaty in November 1815, the Tranchot cards were handed over to the reception and drawing office at the Prussian General Command, which was established in Koblenz on Ehrenbreitstein in 1816. This office was responsible for surveying the new Prussian areas on the Rhine. Chief of the General Staff was Major General von Müffling. The existing French maps were completed and similar maps were produced according to the French pattern for the new Prussian territories, which had not yet been included. In reproduction, the hand-colored map originals were scaled to 1 : 25 000 is reduced. Areas of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate are represented on 132 map sheets and published as multicoloured prints and in 3 special sheet cuts as a compilation of several original sheets.

Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
