INSPIRE-WFS Geology / Structural Geological Overview BB

The interoperable INSPIRE-WFS is a download service that provides data in the INSPIRE target schema geology (derived from the original dataset: Structural Geological Survey of Brandenburg). It provides an overview of deep geology and the structural geological blueprint of Brandenburg. These are dominated by the NW-SE striking intracratonal North German depression, the base of which is lowered in the northern and central part of the country territory to over 5,000 m depth and stands out to the south and southeast. The basin centre continues from northwest Brandenburg in the direction of Unterelbe. On the other hand, the current southern boundary is tectonic. The structural geological conditions are reflected by the current depth of the Zechstein base and the structural modulation of the Zechstein surface. According to the INSPIRE Data Specification for Geology, the contents are INSPIRE compliant. The WFS includes the following feature types: - Geological Unit (ge:GeologicUnit): A rock body with specific properties. With information on the petrographic name and type of geological unit (geologicUnitType). - Fault (ge:ShearDisplacementStructure): brittle to tough structures where a shift has taken place.
