Der Datensatz stellt die Profilverläufe der in Schleswig-Holstein seit den 1940er Jahren durchgeführten reflexionsseismischen Messkampagnen der Kohlenwasserstoff-Industrie (Erdöl/Erdgas) dar. Er wird ergänzt durch einige Messkampagnen von Behörden und Forschungsinstitutionen, insbesondere im Bereich der Küstengewässer. Die zugehörigen Daten können - je nach Verfügbarkeit - auf Anfrage vom Geologischen Dienst SH zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Die meisten der zur Verfügung stehenden reflexionsseismischen Sektionen befinden sich in der Zeitdomäne, überwiegend lediglich gestapelt, zum geringeren Teil auch zeitmigriert. Die Durchführung von reflexionsseismischen Messungen, das Datenprozessing sowie die anschließende Interpretation der Sektionen erfordert spezialisiertes Fachwissen.
