In Fahrradstraßen haben Radfahrende Vorrang, dürfen nebeneinander fahren und die Geschwindigkeit bestimmen. Nur, wenn das Zusatzschild „Kraftfahrzeuge frei“ hängt, dürfen auch andere motorisierte Verkehrsteilnehmende hier fahren. Für alle gilt eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 30 Stundenkilometern, an Kreuzungen und Einmündungen gilt rechts vor links. Ein großes Fahrrad-Piktogramm im blauen Kreis mit der zusätzlichen Beschriftung „Fahrradstraße“ als Verkehrsschild und als Bodenmarkierung kennzeichnet diese für Radler*innen sehr komfortablen Straßen. Sie eignen sich besonders gut für Hauptverbindungen des Radverkehrs oder für Straßen mit hohem Radverkehrsaufkommen.
