Die Immissions-Konzentrationsmessungen geben einen Überblick über die Luftbelastung in Stuttgart. Erfasst werden die Schadstoffe CO, NO₂, NO, O₃ sowie Feinstaub (PM10). Als Orientierung dienen die nach der 22. Bundesimmissionsschutzverordnung (22. BImSchV) ab 2005 bzw. 2010 einzuhaltenden Grenzwerte. Die Daten umfassen Messungen an den Stationen Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, Stuttgart-Hafen (bis 2003), Stuttgart-Schwabenzentrum sowie Stuttgart-Arnulf-Klett-Platz (ab 1995). Grundlage der Statistik sind Auswertungen des Statistischen Landesamtes Baden-Württemberg, des Amts für Umweltschutz der Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart sowie der Landesanstalt für Umwelt, Messungen und Naturschutz Baden-Württemberg. Rechtsgrundlagen sind die 22. Verordnung zur Durchführung des Bundes-Immissionsschutzgesetzes (Verordnung über Immissionswerte für Schadstoffe in der Luft, 2002) sowie das Gesetz über Umweltstatistiken (UStatG) vom 16. August 2005 (BGBl. I S. 2446).
