Suite di analisi e previsioni basate sul modello ICON-2I sull'area italiana con passo di griglia di 2.2 km. La catena modellistica ICON-2I è l'implementazione del modello ICON su un'area che copre tutto il territorio nazionale con un passo di griglia di 2.2 km. Le condizioni al contorno provengono dal modello IFS-HRES di ECMWF, mentre le condizioni iniziali sono generate mediante il sistema di assimilazione dati KENDA-LETKF. Attraverso tale sistema vengono assimilate le osservazioni superficiali (SYNOP), i radiosondaggi (TEMP) e i dati puntuali da aerei di linea (AMDAR, AIREP, ACARS) fornite dal Servizio Meteorologico dell’Aeronautica Militare. Inoltre, vengono assimilate le osservazioni della rete radar nazionale (volumi di riflettività e vento radiale e campi di precipitazione alla superficie) forniti dal Dipartimento di Protezione Civile.
