Special Areas of Conservation

Specially protected nature territories (SACs) in Latvia are geographically defined areas under special national protection in order to protect and preserve the diversity of nature - rare and typical natural ecosystems, the living environment of protected species, peculiar, beautiful and characteristic landscapes, geological and geomorphological formations, dendrological plantations and noble trees, as well as areas important for public recreation, education and upbringing. All information is available in digital form with a link to the Latvian coordinate system LKS-92.
