Number and mass of bentos in the Baltic Sea and Gulf of Riga

Number of bentosa, mass and taxonomic composition in the territorial sea waters of Latvia, determined within the scope of the Water Status Monitoring Programme of the Latvian State Environmental Monitoring Programme. Samples were collected and analysed according to the recommendations of HELCOM COMBINE. The data shall be applicable to the qualitative descriptors D1 and D4 for the determination of good environmental status of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive 2008/56/EC drawn up by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. Abundance, mass and taxonomic composition of benthos from the Latvian waters, Baltic Sea. Samples collected and analysed according to HELCOM COMBINE recommendations. The data are characterising Descriptors D1 and D4 of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive 2008/56/EC.
