Datu kopa satur informāciju par Rīgas valstspilsētas pašvaldības adresēm ar novietojumu uz ēkas vai zemes vienības, kā arī informāciju par pilsētas ielu viduslīniju un nosaukumiem. Dati tiek uzturēti Latvijas 1992. gada koordinātu sistēmā (LKS-92 TM) ar mēroga 1:500 precizitāti. Zemes vienībai vai ēkai adresi piešķir, maina, precizē vai likvidē ar Rīgas domes Pilsētas attīstības departamenta lēmumu, pamatojoties uz nekustamā īpašuma īpašnieka vai viņa pilnvarotās personas iesniegumu. Nosaukumus ielām un laukumiem pilsētā piešķir vai pārdēvē pašvaldības dome. Rīgas vietvārdu un pilsētas objektu nosaukumu komisija izskata priekšlikumus un Rīgas dome lemj par ielas vai laukuma nosaukuma piešķiršanu.
