Dataset description
Surface water observation stations are a point file summarising all national surface water stations that assess the ecological and chemical quality of watercourses and water bodies. The point location of the stations corresponds to the location of each station in the middle of the river, lake, reservoir. The points are located in all areas of the river basin of Latvia — Daugavas, Lielupe, Gauja and Venta. The file is maintained in accordance with the Environmental Monitoring Programme for 2015-2020, based on the Environmental Policy Guidelines 2014-2020, approved by Cabinet Order No 130 of 26 March 2014 on Environmental Policy Guidelines 2014-2020.
