Glossary of local names

The collection includes the Lithuanian Language Institute (LKI) “Dictionary of Local Names” (http://www.vietovardziai.lki.lt/) published in 2007, consisting of the names of Lithuanian and Lithuanian ethnic lands, Lithuanian exile sites and historical sites of white lands.” The online version of the Domain Dictionary is based on a book edition of this dictionary (Vilnius: Institute for Science and Encyclopaedia Publishing, 2002). The collection shall comprise the names of the locales crossed in the shape of their nods, the equivalents in other languages (if any), the haircuts, the species, the administrative-territorial affiliation, the status of the locality and other variants thereof. The data is provided by the Lithuanian Language Institute (LKI). Technical questions or possible errors may be referred to the atverimas@stat.gov.lt.
