House Price Indices

The package contains data on the housing price index. The Housing Price Index (HPI) is a relative indicator of the overall price change of households' purchases of housing, including land, over a period of time. The purpose of the Housing Price Index (HPI) is to have a methodologically harmonised indicator with other Member States of the European Union (EU) to measure changes in house prices. The CPI is needed for monetary policy-making, inflation forecasts and convergence reports, financial stability assessment, international comparisons. For the purposes of the CPI, household expenditure on housing shall be classified under the following headings: H.1. Purchase of housing; H.1.1. Acquisition of new housing; H.1.2. Acquisition of existing dwellings. “Statistical observation unit” means a household dwelling and the land purchased with it. “Survey population” means dwellings purchased in the territory of a country resident and non-resident households. The household sector covers all persons or groups of persons, regardless of where they live, the place in the distribution of income, their nationality and nationality. Data shall be collected from the economic territory of the country as a whole from the first quarter of 2006 and updated quarterly. The BKI base period is 2015 (2015: 100). Another change to the CCI base period is foreseen for 2026, the former time line will be converted into a new index base period and published after calculation in QI 2026. CCI The main source of statistical data for the calculation of the CCI is the data of the Real Property Register of the Centre of Registers of the SE and the databases of transactions.
