Number of places in accommodation establishments

Statistical information on the number of places in accommodation establishments by hotel category, period (year) has been provided. “Statistical observation unit” means an accommodation establishment (local activity unit). The population shall comprise: legal persons providing classified * accommodation services, irrespective of the main economic activity according to the following groups of Chapter I of Rev. 2 of the ECEC: 55.1 for the activities of hotels and similar temporary establishments, 55.3 for recreational vehicles, trailer parks and camping sites (hereinafter referred to as Section I of Rev. 2 of the ECEC, Group 55.1, 55.3). Statistical information shall be produced at national level. Time coverage - from 2012 * According to Article 31 of the Law on Tourism, accommodation services shall be divided into: 1) classified accommodation services: motel services, camping services, guest house services, hotel services; 2) non-classified accommodation services: youth hostel services, rural tourism services, holiday home services, private accommodation services, sanatorium accommodation services, tourist ship accommodation services, tourist camp services. Classified accommodation services may be provided by an accommodation service provider holding a valid classification certificate for accommodation services issued in accordance with the procedure laid down in Article 33 of this Law. The minimum number of rooms or grounds of an object classified as classified accommodation services (hereinafter referred to as a “classified object”) shall be at least 5 rooms or sites. Classified accommodation services shall be classified according to the requirements for classification of the relevant accommodation services approved by the Minister of Economics and Innovation. According to the quality and variety of services provided, the quality level of the class accommodation services shall be marked with asterisks, the higher number of which represents a higher quality level. The highest quality level of classified accommodation services shall be indicated by five stars. The quality level of hotel services may be supplemented by a plus mark.
