Strategic noise maps of agglomerations

The data provided by the National Public Health Center concerns noise in the areas defined by the Noise Management Law – sections of major roads and railways located outside agglomerations, and the major cities (agglomerations with more than 100,000 inhabitants): Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, and Šiauliai. Separate maps are provided showing daytime and nighttime noise contours for road, railway, industrial, and air transport noise. Two indicators are presented for each noise source: Lden – a metric describing the annoyance caused by noise during the daytime, evening, and nighttime periods, and Lnight – a nighttime noise level metric describing sleep disturbance. The values of these indicators are measured in decibels and determined as defined in Annex II of EU Directive 2002/49/EC on the assessment and management of environmental noise. The data is updated every five years. The strategic noise maps (DF4_8) are valid from 2022-12-31 to 2027-12-30.
