Dataset description

The buildings are modeled on a photogrammetric use of the 2017 aerial images. The definition of the LOD 2.3 used includes a detailed modeling of the shape of the roofs (without details like skylights, chimneys, antennas, solar panels,...) with a vertical projection to the ground. This data is available in the 3D web viewer of [geoportail.lu](http://g-o.lu/3/TZOL). **Attention**: Detailed building modeling is not available for the whole country! ### Coverage This type of building modeling is not yet available for the whole country. As part of the LiDAR pilot project in 2017 this modeling of buildings was carried out on an area of 3 km² (2 km² in Diekirch and 1 km² in Bastendorf). Less detailed modelling (LOD 1) of the whole country is available [here](https://data.public.lu/fr/datasets/batiments-3d-lod-1-level-of-detail-1-1/). ### Resolution of buildings The origin of this data restricts the separation of units at the building blocks. The use of aerial images for the modelling of 3D surfaces does not allow a distinction of units by cadastral plots. (E.g. terraced houses) ### Data structure and formats The data is available as CityGML https://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/citygml , a standard format for the exchange of 3D data.

Questions before production use

Practical answers on evaluation, licensing, freshness, versioning and support.

Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
