Dataset description

This data set contains the centroids of trees in the national territory of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, as well as the polygons of the maximum perimeter of their crown. The data was automatically extracted from the point cloud from the 2019 LiDAR flight. Since automated extraction is a statistical approach, the detection of individual trees may be subject to error. As a result, the number of trees in the dataset may differ from the actual number. On the other hand, the height and location of trees are highly accurate. Polygons and centroids are made available in geodatabase or GeoPackage files and contain attributes indicating the height of the trees and the width of their crown in meters.
