Number of sales of apartments, houses and land

**Updated on December 18, 2025 - Statistics up to Q3 2025.** This statistic is based on Land Advertising data (extracted from **notarised deeds**) sent by the Registration, Domains and VAT Administration to STATEC and the Habitat Observatory. It includes all transactions involving sales of apartments, houses and building land** that have been the subject of a notarial deed. This is why the number of transactions is systematically higher than the number of sales associated with the apartment price statistics: In order to compile the latter statistic, a number of treatments (selection of relevant transactions, exclusion of sales under emphyteosis or with special rights, rejections of extreme values) lead to a reduction in the number of sales retained. In addition, it should be noted that **the figures for houses are not exhaustive**, since they do not include a large part of new houses (land sold with a construction contract, self-construction, etc.), which are not covered by a notarial deed as such. Finally, **statistics can be revised**, since transactions can be recorded several months after the conclusion of the sale.
