Registered victims of crime (from 01-01-2005)

CBS receives data files derived from the police records (source files). We distinguish incident files with information about the recorded incidents, files containing suspects of these incidents and files containing declarants/victims of these incidents with personal and process information in the last two files. The data delivery takes place via the police information system GIDS. The crime victims component contains data from the police records. It is also possible that one person has been a victim of a crime several times in the same year. However, each person is uniquely made in the component. Various crime categories have been included as a variable from which it can be determined whether a person was a victim of a crime that was reported to the police during the year in question. Police regions 15 (Haaglanden) and 26 (KLPD) and 27 (KMAR) are not data on victims delivered over the years 2005 to 2009. For these regions, we have ratios of the other police regions & #039;s estimated how many victims in the missing police region and#039;s registered. However, no personal data is known of these estimated victims. That is why they are use the increase factors below to use data from the other police regions & #039;s assess the missing victims including personal characteristics. From police region 27 (KMAR) no data on victims are known at all about the years 2005 to 2012. This region is excluded from the component. (As of 2010 victims of the region of The Hague are known. As of 2011 also for region KLPD.) After the third version, which is based on notifications from year T, T+ 1 and T+ 2, the component is frozen. The result is that a small percentage of the offences committed in a given year is not included in the component. All reported crimes can still be found in the "final files version 1 and quot; selected on the year of reporting a crime. This component also includes the non-GBA population. Of these people are not always sufficient personal data known to distinguish them uniquely. If there is a victim insufficient personal data is available, this person becomes one unique person numbered. This may lead to an overestimation of the number of unique victims in the component. The component contains only persons who are registered as victims of an offence involving logically, they can prevent victims. Persons registered as victims of a typical victimless crime such as & firearm possession & #039; have been considered as a registration error not to mention this component. The following crime classification is used in the component. Only the lowest level of crime is included in the component.
