Baltic Sea – Geological map (Folk), 1:200,000

<p>Geological map of Polish sea areas for the purposes of the so-called Additional Military Layers was developed in 2013 at the Department of Sea Geology of the Polish Geological Institute - National Research Institute in accordance with the indications of the defense standard NO-06-A058-5. The map includes those elements of the defense standard concerning the geological layer (sublayer) that could be developed on the basis of existing data on bottom sediments of Polish sea areas. The basis for the development of the map were the previous results of marine cartography collected in the NEPTUN and GEOECHO databases run by the Marine Geology Department of the PGI-NRI.</p> <p>The map covers the entire area of Polish sea areas and contains the following information layers:</p> <ul> <li>nature of geological layer according to Folk's classification</li> <li>type of the bottom according to marine geophysical measurements (MSG type).</li> </ul>
