Dataset description

Transparency is an important value for the National Civil Protection Authority (ANPC). The service has invested in technology to share more and more information with the citizen, and has pioneered, among its counterparts, the publication of operational data on the Internet, which it has done since 2007. On the homepage of ANPC's digital website you will find a map of current events by district, which allows you to know, at a glance, where the protection and relief activity in mainland Portugal is concentrated. From there, by clicking on the map or the links below it, you will have access to additional information. By visiting the [page of ongoing events](http://www.prociv.pt/en-pt/SITUACAOPERACIONAL/Paginas/pesquisa.aspx) you will learn about the main elements that characterise them, i.e. the events that, at the time you access the ANPC digital site, are committing means of protection and relief (human and/or material resources). An ongoing event is, by definition, one that is still deserving of intervention by means or that is in the process of being resolved after the situation that gave rise to it has been resolved. The ANPC can receive alerts from various sources, from citizen calls to the national emergency number, 112, to direct calls to the District Relief Operations Commands or to the Fire Departments. When the ANPC receives news of incidents that require intervention to protect or rescue people, property or the environment, it activates the resources of the entities that can provide the necessary assistance, and records the data in the computer application that concentrates all the information about what is happening in the country in the field of Civil Protection, the Operational Decision Support System (SADO). The information you are consulting originates from SADO, which transmits it to the digital site so that the citizen can consult it. What started with a phone call from a citizen to local firefighters, 112 or other sources, comes to you after a chain of events has been triggered.

Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
