Agricultural land use categories (TA, PP, CP) APIA LPIS 2025

The layer represents the spatial delimitation of the categories of agricultural land use, according to the classification used by APIA and the European legislation on utilised agricultural area (UAA). Each polygon shall indicate a unit of land (physical block or subdivision) falling into one of the following main categories: • TA – Arable land: areas under annual crops or under crop rotation, including land lying fallow; • PP – Permanent grassland: areas used permanently (≥ 5 years) for natural or cultivated herbaceous vegetation intended for grazing or mowing; • CP – Permanent crops: land occupied on a long-term basis (≥ 5 years) by agricultural plantations such as orchards, vineyards or fruit shrubs. The layer is used to analyse and monitor the use of agricultural land, to report to APIA and other authorities, and to integrate the areas declared by farmers into GIS management systems. In order to comply with the requirements of personal data protection (GDPR), the layer will contain exclusively the following fields: the physical block, the luid, the area use category, the county, the name of the administrative-territorial unit (ATU), the area determined, the perimeter determined, the SIRUTA code. Information that could lead to direct identification of farmers is not included.
