Business Register of Slovenia

In accordance with the Slovenian Business Register Act, the Slovenian Business Register (PRS) is the central public database of all business entities established in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia that perform profit or non-profit activity, as well as their branches and other parts of business entities. The PRS also contains data on branches of foreign business entities operating in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia. As an authorised provider of state statistics, AJPES, together with the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia and the Bank of Slovenia, performs, in accordance with the regulations, certain tasks of collecting data for statistical surveys in electronic form. AJPES partially opened data from the PRS and publishes a file in xml format with basic data from the PRS two times a month. For an individual business entity, data on the registration number, full name, business address, legal form and registration authority are thus available. AJPES refreshes the list two times a month. The Slovenian Business Register (PRS) is the primary register for the majority of business entities, as individual entrepreneurs, companies and natural persons – partners – register with the PRS. For all other business entities (associations, trade unions, political parties and natural persons performing a registered activity), the PRS is a completed register, as these business entities are registered with an entry in the primary register or an official record at another registration body and only then are entered in the PRS by the AJPES. Registration courts decide on entries of companies and other entities that are required by law to be entered in the court register. Data from sole proprietors (from 1. 7. 2005 onwards) and natural persons – landlords (since 21. 1. 2008) in the PRS is decided by AJPES. The Register of Digital Certificates (EDP) of legal representatives of business entities is also part of the PRS database. Companies and other entities entered in the court register make up 35% of all business entities entered in the PRS, 42% of all business entities are sole traders and natural persons – partners, while other entities account for 23% of all PRS business entities.
