Water land

Land on which inland water is permanently or occasionally present and therefore specific hydrological, geomorphological and biological conditions that define the aquatic and riparian ecosystem are formed is inland water land. The water land of flowing waters comprises the basic channel of flowing waters, including the bank, up to a pronounced geomorphological change. The water land of standing waters comprises the bottom of standing waters, including the bank, up to the highest recorded water level. Abandoned riverbeds and gravel pits that are occasionally flooded by water, marshes and land that has been flooded by water due to land intervention are also considered to be water land. The water land of the sea comprises the bottom of the internal marine waters and the territorial sea up to the outer boundary of the coast. The boundaries of water land are displayed in digital form as a database in the water cadastre. Water land is defined in the Waters Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia No 67/02 and amendments; Articles 11 and 28) and the Rules on the Detailed Method of Determining the Boundary of Waterborne Land in Inland Waters (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 58/18) and the Rules on the Detailed Method of Determining the Boundary (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 106/04 and 77/10).
