National Spatial Coordinate System Database

The National Spatial Coordinate System database shall contain: - data on realizations of the national spatial coordinate system (i.e. data on national reference coordinate and elevation systems), data on date transformations between realizations of the national spatial coordinate system (i.e. data on date transformations between realizations of the national coordinate reference systems or between realizations of the national height reference systems); and - data on hirarchic geographic coordinate grids. Data on national reference coordinate systems shall include parameters defining: - the national horizontal geodetic dates, including the geometric parameters of the Earth as a planet, the horizontal reference surface – the rotational ellipsoide – and the national cartographic projections; and - national elevation geodetic dates, including physical parameters of the Earth as a planet, elevation reference surfaces – (quasi-)geoids – and types of national elevation systems. Date transformation data shall include: - detailed specifications of transformation models with transformation equations; and - the corresponding sets of transformation parameters. Data on national reference coordinate systems and on date transformations are also supported by internationally standardised descriptions and associated codes within the framework of the collection of geodetic parameters EPSG. Geographical coordinate grids are also available as graphical layers with grids for individual levels of detail, in Shape format (SHP files).
