Emerging forms of cooperation between private sector organisations and higher education institutions, 2014

EMCOSU (Emerging Modes of Cooperation between Private Sector Organisations and Universities) strengthens the link between education activities and the employability needs of higher education graduates, and in particular the promotion of cooperation with higher education education. Currently, the most important national and international mechanisms contributing to the achievement of this objective are closely linked to cooperation between higher education institutions and enterprises, which is the main focus of the EMCOSU project, which seeks to answer the following questions: a) What are the most relevant ways of cooperation between universities and businesses and why? b) How can these methods be logically systematised according to the specific needs of stakeholders, countries, fields of study and sectors? c) What are the current characteristics of the methods of cooperation and what are the needs for their further development? d) What are the key drivers and motivations for the development of cooperation on the part of universities and companies? e) What is the potential of the identified improvements compared to the existing public policy tools: Credit scores and sector-specific frameworks qualifications in higher education? Which sectors and jobs have the highest acceptance potential in selected partner countries and at EU level Higher education graduates in the future? The survey includes companies from EMCOSU countries (Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Slovenia, Spain) and other non-EMCOSU countries/regions: Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, continental European countries, countries of the former Yugoslavia, Scandinavian countries and Russia. The entire EMCOSU survey included data for companies, specific sectors and employers’ associations. In the Social Science Data Archive, data is only available for companies.
