Use of online panels in survey methodology, 2016

The study is a systematic review aimed at assessing (i) the characteristics of the online panels used in the survey methodology, (ii) the quality of these online panels; (iii) the characteristics of individual panel studies and (iv) the use of online panels as a sample source for surveys on the quality of survey data. For the selection of empirical studies in the field of survey methodology, For web panels, the WebSM bibliographic database was used. To address the research questions were to describe the characteristics of the online panels, as well as the purpose of use Web Panels, specific encoded categories defined. In connection with the purpose of the study, various aspects of the quality of the panel data were encoded for the studies on the quality of the panels themselves, as well as methodological questions for studies using panels as a sample source for survey methodology research.
