Coast Line of the Kingdom of Spain (INSPIRE)

Coast line extracted from the electronic nautical charts (ENC) of purpose 4 and 5 of navigation published by the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy (IHM) of Spain. The resolution base is considered a scale of 1:50000 although there are areas where the resolution can reach 1:22000. Article 20 of Royal Decree 1545/2007 of 23 November 2007 regulating the National Cartographic System provides that straight baselines and limits corresponding to the Continental Shelf, among others, must be entered in the CCR. In addition, Article 22(2c) provides that the IHM is responsible for referring to the CCR those technical cartographic aspects necessary for the representation of straight baselines and maritime boundaries once approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. It should be noted that, in general, the geometry with which each line is inscribed in the RCC has a geometric uncertainty due, fundamentally, to the antiquity of the same, since they were obtained from cartography of very small scales and also in datum ED50, forcing its transformation to the ETRS89 datum.
