Dataset description

The Web Map Service called Habitat Distribution Article 17 (2013-2018 period) allows the visualization and consultation of the habitat distribution cartography of community interest. The measures adopted under the Habitats Directive (Directive 92/43/EC) are intended ‘to maintain or restore, at a favourable conservation status, natural habitats and wild species of fauna and flora of Community interest.’ The Directive defines the term ‘conservation status’ according to several parameters: range, population, habitat area, habitat suitable for the species, structure and functions of habitats and future prospects.
