Dataset description

This is the inspirational representation of baselines. For more information, see baseline metadata. The Swedish Maritime Territory and Maritime Zones Act (2017:1272) applies from 1 March 2018 Baselines and boundaries are presented with all coordinates in annexes to the Act. The lines that define the boundaries have been divided into shorter segments to be properly accounted for in existing map projections. Base line points, points on the low water line and low water cuttings have been inspected and measured and form the basis for the calculation of the sea territory boundary in the sea and the border of the contiguous zone. Straight baselines run between baseline points located on the coast’s low water line (-0.5 m RH2000) and follow the main direction of the coast. Normal baselines occur along some parts of the coasts of Skåne, Öland and Gotland and follow the low water line along the coastlines where we do not have straight baselines. The points on the low-water line are located on normal baselines and have been selected where the situation is expected to affect the calculation of the sea territory boundary in the sea. Llowwaterskär is located outside the baselines and has been selected on corresponding grounds. The following attributes are found in the point shape file: Runnr_dels – Bass-point running number (BP) for each section. Sub-distances – baselines are presented with the following sections: Mainland and Öland, Gotland including Fårö and Lilla Karlsö, Gotska Sandön, Stora Karlsö, Brandt, Brandshällarna. Point number_name – Numbers and names of baseline points and low water cuttings Latitude & Longitude – All points along the boundary are described by geographical coordinates in latitude and longitude expressed in the reference system SWEREF 99 partly in degrees and decimal minutes as stated in the law and partly in decimal degrees. Point type – There are the following point types: • point on the low-water line along the normal baseline (LP); • end point of right baseline, baseline point (BP), • segmented point on a straight geodetic line between two baseline points (MP) and • point on low-water core located outside a baseline (LS). Type of baseline – Which type of baseline (right/normal) starts in the point. Source – Act (2017:1272) on the Swedish Maritime Territory and Maritime Zones. Unique ID – A unique ID added by the Swedish Maritime Administration. The following attributes are in the line shape file: Sub-distance – Partial distance of right baseline. Source – Act (2017:1272) on the Swedish Maritime Territory and Maritime Zones.

Questions before production use

Practical answers on evaluation, licensing, freshness, versioning and support.

Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
