The surface height model is created by aerial image matching and is a type of height model that describes what is visible from the air. The top of vegetation, buildings and other things on top of the ground are included. On open ground, where there is no vegetation, buildings or anything else, the surface height model shows the surface area. The points that make up the surface height model are not a three-dimensional swarm with dots, but it is a layer of height points (2.5D model). The surface height model has several uses, for example, it can be used to visualise the landscape and find changes, calculate forest growth, elevate 3D data, or simulate how gas emissions travel
