This data is collected by police officers attending the scene of collisions, or by the public reporting collisions online or at police stations (where an officer did not attend).</span></p> <p><span style="color: rgb(11, 12, 12); font-family: &quot;GDS Transport&quot;, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 19px;">The statistics cover personal injury collisions (alternatively, accidents) on public roads (including footways) which become known to the police within 30 days.
