LFB Statement of Assurance - supporting data

<p> <span>Each year, London's fire and rescue authority is required to prepare an annual Statement of Assurance (SoA) in accordance with the Fire and Rescue National Framework for England. This is to "</span> <em>provide annual assurance on financial, governance and operational matters</em> <span>". The format of the Statement follows guidance produced by the government (May 2013). </span> </p> <p> <span>Governance of London's fire and rescue service changed on 1 April 2018, when the former London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA) was abolished and the London Fire Commissioner (LFC) became the fire and rescue authority for London. The LFC runs the </span> <a href="http://www.london-fire.gov.uk/" target="_blank">London Fire Brigade</a> <span> (LFB). The SoAs for 2017/18 onwards will be approved by the </span> <a href="https://www.london-fire.gov.uk/about-us/our-decisions/?SearchTerm=statement+of+assurance&amp;SelectedDecisionStageId=-1&amp;SelectedDecisionMakerId=-1&amp;sort=4#results" target="_blank">LFC</a> -<span> see the LFC decisions page </span> <a href="https://www.london-fire.gov.uk/about-us/our-decisions/" target="_blank">here</a> <span>; SoAs up to and including 2016/17 were approved by the former</span> <a href="http://moderngov.london-fire.gov.uk/mgListCommittees.aspx?bcr=1%20" target="_blank">LFEPA</a> <span>. </span> </p> <p>From the statement for 2014/15, the Brigade has published supporting data as an appendix to the Statement. This page includes the supporting data for SoAs from that date. Originally, this data was to help assess the impact of the changes to fire stations and fire engines made on 9 January 2014 and agreed as part of the Fifth London Safety Plan (LSP5). <span>Also, the impact of removing a 13 further fire engines from service in June 2016 (as part of the budget savings for 2016/17). </span> </p> <p>The SoA for the preceding financial year (April to March) is normally published in the Autumn. Data sets that support the latest SoA are palso published here.</p> <p> <span>The LFB has published full datasets for incidents attended since January 2009, plus a dataset which details of every fire engine (pumping appliance) sent to an incident.
