Dataset description

The register of mineral resources is a database belonging to the state information system, the purpose of which is to collect and ensure the availability of geological information obtained by geological exploration, reports on the volume of extraction of mineral resources and, with the consent of the Environmental Board, by markcheder surveying. The database contains information on deposits (consisting of blocks of mineral resources), mining claims (areas where mineral resources are extracted) and exploration areas located on Estonian mainland, transboundary water bodies, territorial sea, inland sea and exclusive economic zone. The most important attributes are the dimensions of the objects, the type and quantity of the stock. The use of mineral resources is regulated by the Earth's Crust Act and various regulations.
